Semester I

The Semester I Foundation course gives the students a critically creative environment and a wide range of skills to begin defining their own creative practice. The diagnostic course allows students to explore a wide range of art and design disciplines as part of their preparation for the comprehensive Fashion design course. The elements of Art and Design are the building blocks used to create a work of art. Students take an extensive look at different forms of art. Study a type of media, its applications to art-making and the artists who use it. The study of works of art, design and buildings from a global perspective; the focus on historical and contemporary works of art, design, architecture and art appreciation. The course also teaches foundation clothing illustration that will enhance their fashion illustration as the students' progress to another level of learning. This course will also help students learn basic sewing techniques.

Semester II

This semester establishes the foundation in key subjects of fashion and the need for styling within the industry. It encourages students to develop their creative & aesthetic abilities, simultaneously teaching them the basics of Pattern Drafting and Apparel Construction. Fashion Illustration is introduced and students improvise in their fashion drawing and sketching skills and learn to use different art mediums. Digital Fashion is a part of this semester, to advance students' computer graphic skills. History of Fashion and Design will help students review, investigate and map the history of costumes around the world. Elements of Textiles will enable students understand and explore a range of textiles and various fabric structures and finishes used in the fashion industry.

Semester III

Semester III is an advance study of all the fashion subjects, the course helps to accurately represent fabrics and textures in basic illustration and creating a mini collection. This semester will enable students to produce patterns and construct garments for fashion design applications in the industry using advanced pattern making and garment construction techniques. The characteristics and draping of fabric and its effect on the development of style and silhouettes is learnt. Students use draping methods and flat pattern techniques to resolve complex problems in design development. History of Fashion and Design will assist in developing ways of seeing costumes & fashion in a comprehensive cultural context. Students will also get to appreciate the ancient and modern creations of these works of art. In Indian Textiles, students would be introduced to the textiles and costumes that define the Indian states.

Semester IV

The last semester is focused on the thesis project and individual portfolio. Students produce finished collections and graduate portfolios reflecting their personal design philosophies. The work is reviewed by a jury of industry professionals. The design collection is based on the learning of the students of the various subjects in fashion design. Specialisation could be chosen based on the area of student's interest and a range created accordingly. Students present design ideas in form of research papers, mood boards, storyboards or illustrations and are mentored under leading fashion designers to create a final collection.
